Favorite Toys for Boys

Here are a few toys that Ryan, almost three, plays with daily long after the newness has faded.

• GeoTrax (battery-powered railroad with remote control trains)
  
  
• Monster Trucks, MegaBloks Car Carrier, and (the classic!) Tonka Dump Truck
  
  
• Foam Pirate Swords


• Cardboard boxes, typically toy boxes, large and small!


• Balls of all kinds for throwing and kicking, especially Nerf and similar. (We use them for indoor kickball golf!)

We keep a close eye on Ryan when he's playing with some of these toys. Foam swords can cause chaos, mayhem, and destruction around anything delicate. Our cat soon tired of buccaneer games and avoids Ryan when he is swashbuckling! The Tonka truck is sturdy enough to drive right through a sliding glass door, as I proved many years back.

When Ryan was a little less than one and learning to pull up and stand, one of our relatives gave him a Leap frog Musical Table that he loved and played with for months.
